LAN

A computer network that spans a relatively small area. Most LANs are confined to a single building or group of buildings. However, one LAN can be connected to another LAN over any distance via telephone lines and radio waves. Both Structured and unstructured cabling can be done in LAN. AVC undertakes structured and unstructured cabling installation both copper and fiber. The company has certified engineers to implement the LAN projects. AVC will coordinate to get the warranty certificate from the principals in all its structured cabling projects.

WAN

A computer network that spans a relatively large geographical area. Typically, a WAN consists of two or more Local Area Networks (LAN). Computers connected through public networks, such as the telephone system. They can also be connected through leased lines or satellites. The largest WAN in existence is the internet.

WLAN

WLAN is an acronym for wireless local Area Network. A type of local area networks that uses high frequency radio waves, rather than wires communicate between nodes. Wireless Local Area Networks operate within a building, office or home environment and public spaces over a distance of approximately 100 meters and a transmission rate of up to 11Mbps via radio Waves. It is also available for outdoor solutions.

WI-FI

WI-FI or Wireless Fidelity is freedom: it allows you to connect the internet from your couch at home, a bed in a hostel room or a conference room at work without wires. How? WI-FI is a wireless technology like a cell phone. WI-FI enabled computers send and receives data indoors and out: anywhere with the range of base station. And the best thing of all, it’s several times faster than the fastest cable modem connection. However, you only have true freedom to be connected anywhere if your computer is configured with a WI-FI Certified radio (a PC Card or similar device). WI-FI certification means that you will be able to connect anywhere there are other compatible WI-FI Certified products- whether you are at home, the office or corporate campus or in airports hostels, coffee shops and other public areas equipped with WI-FI access.

STORAGE

A storage area network (SAN) is a high-speed special purpose network (or sub network) that interconnects different kinds of data storage devices with associated data servers on behalf of a larger network users. Typically, storage area network is a part of the overall network of computing resources for an enterprise. A storage area network is a system for interconnecting and allowing different kinds of storage devices to be shared by all users through network servers. SANs support disk mirroring, backup, and restore archival and retrieval of archived data, data migration from one storage device to another and the sharing of data among different servers in a network. SANs can incorporate sub networks with network attached storage (NAS) systems.

LAN AUDITING

Since the network technology is being swiftly changing, with help of experienced technical staff and tools, the LAN auditing can be conducted for both passive and active components, which are installed in the premises of the clients. Solutions for any change and up gradation will be provided to enable them to keep their systems intact.
